How do you remove wrinkles and creases from your diamond painting canvas?Updated 2 months ago
Overview
Wrinkles and creases can sometimes appear on a diamond painting canvas due to shipping or improper storage. This guide provides easy and effective methods to remove these imperfections and ensure a smooth surface for your artwork.
Methods to Remove Wrinkles and Creases
1. Use a Heavy Object to Flatten the Canvas
Place the canvas on a flat surface.
Put heavy books or a weighted object evenly over the canvas.
Leave it pressed for at least 24-48 hours.
Check to see if the wrinkles have flattened out.
2. Apply Gentle Heat with an Iron
Set the iron to a low heat setting (no steam).
Place a protective cloth (like a towel or pillowcase) over the canvas.
Gently press the iron over the cloth for a few seconds at a time.
Repeat as needed but avoid direct contact with the adhesive.
3. Use a Warm Towel
Dampen a towel with warm (not hot) water.
Lay the towel over the canvas for about 5-10 minutes.
Remove the towel and allow the canvas to dry completely.
4. Reverse Roll the Canvas
Lay the canvas face down.
Gently roll it in the opposite direction of the wrinkles.
Secure with rubber bands and leave it rolled for a few hours.
Unroll and check if the wrinkles have improved.
